With the Sydney 2000 Olympics looming, Westpac was chosen as the official Bank. To report on the progress of various internal bank initiatives in the lead up to this great event, a quarterly video was produced. The brief for the opener was quite loose creatively and yet certain very tight constraints were imposed with regard to the use of the Olympic identity.
C.A.R. productions won the pitch with a creative solution that played on the cardinal points of a compass (W,N,E,S), ultimately forming the word Winners. The underlying element of a circle to represent Olympic rings, a stopwatch, a gold medal, a compass rose and the world, was employed to link the animation together thoughout and provide a strong focus for the piece.
