Replica of Ayrton Senna's 1988 Helmet
Ayrton Senna has undoubtably gone down in the annals of motor racing history as one of the greatest drivers of all time. As a triple World Champion, and one of the finest drivers in the wet you'll ever see, you have to admit, he was good.
This helmet was airbrushed on commission to an avid Senna fan who tracked down the exact model Bell helmet that Senna wore on his way to his first World Championship in 1988. The helmet was white (as most are) to begin with, and armed with nothing more than a bunch of photos, I airbrushed and signwrote it to be an exact replica of the real thing.
There are no stickers or decals - the whole thing is meticulous paint work.
The client was so happy with the finished result, he requested a copy of the photos I took during the painting process. He then took the helmet and photos to the 1990 Adelaide Grand Prix and suceeded in getting Ayrton himself to sign the finished helmet. Now that's an endorsement!
